Insurance — FIFA (Florida Insurance Fairness Act) 2026

Insurance fairness.

The Florida Insurance Fairness Act (FIFA) creates a “certification to operate” model for insurance companies operating in Florida to comply with:

  • Advertising standard full-coverage plans for every line they service (home, auto, health, dental, etc.).
  • No exclusions for previous health conditions, floods, hurricanes, etc.
  • Removing hidden gaps in coverage and unintentional underinsurance for Florida families.
  • Premium increases limited to inflation-based metrics (CPI-U).
  • Price transparency.
  • Enforcing through the Office of Insurance Regulation (OIR) with the ability to fine, suspend & remove non-compliant insurance companies.
  • Insurers unwilling to operate fairly may leave the market.

Over the first 5 years, FIFA is estimated to save Florida consumers over $90 billion.
